Kennedy Oyugi, Member of County Assembly representing Highrise Ward, has been elected as the new chairman of the Water Committee.
Oyugi, currently serving his second term, was elected unopposed by nineteen members following the disbandment of the committee last week due to corruption allegations against the former chair, Redson Otieno.
In his brief acceptance speech, Oyugi expressed his commitment to working with everyone and revitalizing the committee. He emphasized that his focus is on the collective welfare of the Assembly and pledged to fulfill his duties diligently in accordance with the constitution.
“Our key mandate as elected leaders is representation and oversight, as a chairperson I commit show and lead my members the way to fulfill our roles as required by the law,” Oyugi said
