The leading fish products manufacturer in Kenya, Global Tilapia has unveiled a new product in the market namely Ready to Eat.
Ready to Eat is a whole fish tilapia coming in different sizes cooked and frozen.
Global Tilapia brings in value addition in the product by frying, freezing, packing and branding.
Speaking to Journalists during the opening ceremony of the Naivas Supermarket Medilink, Global Tilapia marketing manager Josephine Njoki said all their fish come from Mbita, Lake Victoria.
“We transport our fish in refrigerated trucks to our processing center in Embakasi. At the processing center, the fish is cleaned, cut, cooked and packed and frozen,” Ms Njoki said.
“We identified a gap in the market and we have filled it, as President William Ruto said, the only way to grow the fish 🐟 🐠 industry is by value addition. Our products are available at all our partners’ stores including Chandarana, Carrefour and Naivas Supermarkets,” she further added.
Other products by Global Tilapia include; fish fingers, fish fillets, fish nuggets, fish samosas and fish sausages.
Josephine says through the new products, Global Tilapia has seen many young people get employment.
