Police Hunt Gang For Robbery In Shauri Moyo

A middle aged Man identified as Ian Otieno is in police custody as his three mates are being hunted for.
This is after they were in involved in a foil robbery in Shauri Moyo yesterday night.
According to the police Otieno was part of a four-man gang that managed to gain entry into a residential house at Jua Kali area at 10pm, before stealing three mobile phones and a 43-inch HiSense Television.
The robbery was cut short when a neighbour raised alarm after noticing the gang terrorising the house’s occupants.
25-year-old Ian Otieno was adamant on not leaving the TV behind because it would prove what he was doing.
The three whom he was with ran away and are being searched for by investigators.
Fearing for their safety, three gang members escaped but With the TV in his possession, Otieno managed to circumvent the furious mob that had gathered outside the house after using a dagger to cut one of the persons impeding his escape.

He was however nabbed moments later by Shauri Moyo police constables who got wind of the situation.
“Responding swiftly and getting a gist of the violent robbery, the police pursued the criminal gang, moments later cornering and arresting Otieno who clung on to the stolen TV. A bloodstained knife was also found tucked on his trousers,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said in a statement.

Otieno is currently in police custody awaiting arraigned in court for robbery with violence as sleuths continue to track down his three accomplices.
