NGO Council Calls for tolerance Amid Rise in Political Temperatures

The National Council of NGOs (NGO Council) has urged for decorum and political tolerance among key political leaders and aspirants of various political offices and their supporters as High political seasons fast approaches in the Country.


In a statement, the council called on the political leaders to keep prioritizing issues affecting the citizens as they visit every corner of the country to sell their policies peacefully.

“The NGO Council urges all Kenyans to pay keen attention to every aspirant, the political parties , we urge Kenyans in every part of the nation to to critically interrogate manifestos of every aspirant as the country prepares for general elections.The NGO Council urges current and aspiring political leaders to always maintain high level of political harmony with one in the country and most importantly NGO Council urge all leaders and Wananchi to preach peace among the Kenyan people. We urge leaders to desist from name calling and issuing of hateful remarks during public meetings and gatherings,” they said.

They urged all Kenyans to reject leaders who propagate hatred in the society.


The Council has also urged politicians in the country to embrace one another and be in love with one another at all times for the peace of the nation.

“Leaders must be very careful on the choice of words they use as they address public meetings and gatherings at all times. NGO Council urge leaders to be real in their promises to Kenyans ahead of the August 9th General elections,” they added.

Kenyans have also been urged to ensure they are registered as voters so as to elect the leaders they want so as not to complain later.

The IEBC mass voter registration comes to an end today with the commission failing to meet the target o Four Million.
