Ngatia represents business sector at Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue

The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Richard Ngatia represented the Kenya business sector at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue meeting that was held in Berlin Germany during the ongoing Kenyan state visit to Germany led by President William Ruto.


Ngatia joined the Kenya Government leaders among them Energy Cabinet Secterary Davis Chirchir, Environment and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya and the Roads,Transport and Public works Cabinet Secterary Hon Onesmus Kipchumba Murkomen as well as the African Development Bank CEO Akinwumi Adesina and others to the dialogue.


President Ruto, during the meeting, spoke on the urgent need to scale down climate incompatible funding so as to free funds for climate action to unlock more concessional finance and lower risk.


The state visit is aimed at encouraging investment from Germany and the President has made it clear that Kenya is ready to partner with businesses, especially in the areas of renewable energy, infrastructure, digital economy, housing, and agriculture, among others.


The Kenyan delegation has used the opportunity to persuade international businesses to grasp emerging opportunities that will be drawn from Kenya’s stronger and broader relations with Germany.
