Nairobi City County Assembly Sectorial Chairman for Transport and public works is on spot for defending Matatu Saccos using Zebra Crossing in the CBD as Picking and dropping points.
Musango Maithya who is the Pipeline MCA openly defended the Saccos saying there is a court order and nothing can be done over it is compromising his oversight role as an MCA.
Previously, he has been accused of taking huge chunks of money from the various Saccos to allow them to proceed with the illegalities.
“Yes, the two Saccos have been fighting but let them proceed operating there because we cannot do anything as they obtained a court order to operate there,” he said.
When the Members of the Committee ask questions to the sector CEC who were present, the CEC has been answering on their behalf and even dismissing them.
Some members have been angry with him and are planning a coup if he does not change.
Few weeks ago, he took ksh.300,000 from Sacco Chairmen at the Office of Finance Chief Officer in Charge of Revenue Collection Wilson Gakuya.
