Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has today failed to clear Karen MCA David Mbilithia Mberia to run for MCA seat on ODM ticket despite Mberias’ victory over petition challenging his nomination.
Yesterday ODM Appeals Board reinstated Mberias’ victory directing ODM National Elections Board to forward his name to the IEBC for clearance.
“The appeals board revoked certificate held by Antony Maragu and my nomination as ODM Karen ward was upheld…ODM is a democratic party,is a party I have served for 17 years,” Mberia told the media.
ODM National Elections Board now have 6 days to forward Mberias’ name to IEBC before 20th July 2022 deadline.
“What have I done to deserve this punishment I have never stolen anyone’s property,I have been loyal to my party and party leader Raila Odinga…. I want my supporters to stay calm…we shall fight until justice is served.” he added.
