In her condolence message, Kananu has Eulogized her as cheerful leader who broke barriers to be where she was.

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I accept the passing on of Hon. Mellab
Lumalah, an amazing and cheerful person.
Mellab, broke many barriers by becoming a Nominated MCA, and was later appointed as
the Nairobi Deputy Minority leader. Her biggest aspiration this year was to vie for an elected
seat in this year’s General election. Mellab, was a no-nonsense personality who fought to
be heard in instances where she felt she was not heard,” said Kananu in a statement.

Mellab passed this morning while receiving treatment in India.
Until her demise, she was serving as the Deputy Minority leader and was nominated under the ODM party.
Nominate Member of County Assembly, Mary Ariviza while sending her condolences to the family of Mellab said the Nairobi Assembly will miss her service as she was very resourceful to them
She was a beautiful lady inside out. She was nominated for the women and she carried herself well. Our party ODM raised her and gave her the Deputy Minority leadership. She has been a very resourceful and I really doubt if we utilized her well,” said Ariviza.
Mellab was planning to vie for the Kabiru Ward Member of County Assembly in the Coming General elections.
