Financially Striken Gor Mahia, AFC demand pay from FKF

Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards clubs have written a letter to the Football Federation of Kenya (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa threatening to miss the match scheduled tomorrow if their Sponsorship grants and Betway Cup Sponsorship are not remitted by today 4:30 PM.


The federation is obliged to make payments of the sponsorship grants on time and immediately but they have been accused odmf not doing so on time and sometimes not at all.


The sponsorship grants are by Startimes, Betking and Youth Sponsorship.


The Federation have also been accused of not releasing the Betway Cup Sponsorship which was already paid to them as the finals were held earlier this month of July.


Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards who were the winners and Runners up of the cup claim they haven’t been given their payments of 2Million and 1 Million respectively.

In a joint letter to the federation president Nick Mwendwa, Gor Mahia and AFC leopards are demanding to be paid prize money for the Betway cup which they played in the finals.

The letter signed by Gor Mahia boss Ambrose Rachier and his AFC Leopards counterpart Dan Shikanda stated that:


“This is therefore to inform you that unless all the outstanding sponsorship grants and Betway Cup Sponsorship money is not paid by today 4pm, then we will not honor the league match scheduled for tomorrow, 31st July 2021.”
