APA Insurance emerged triumphant, securing an impressive twelve awards at the recent 2023 AKI Awards.
Among the highlights of APA Insurance remarkable achievements was being honored with the prestigious title of The General Insurance Company of the Year 2023. Other top awards includedInnovation Award 2023 – 1st Runners-Up and Group Life Best Proactive Award – 2nd Runners-Up.
Additionally, Joseph Kariuki from APA Insurance was recognised as the General Insurance Agent of the Year. While Justina Mbona, also from APA Insurance, was recognised as the Medical Insurance Agent of the Year.
The medical insurance agent is a newly introduced category that is awarded to the agent that sold the highest number of medical insurance policies during the competition period.
Justina Malusha received the Premium Volume – Winner award for Travel Insurance, while Samuel Ngatia emerged victorious in the Contractors All Risk – Premium Volume category.
Steven Ogutu was recognised as the Winner in Personal Accident Insurance – Premium Volume. Charlene Wanjiku achieved the commendable position of Medical Insurance – Agent of the Year Runner-Up.

The AKI Agents Awards, organised by the Association of Kenya Insurers (AKI), are designed to honor the outstanding performances of top agents in the industry and inspire insurance professionals to achieve higher levels of productivity, quality and innovation.
This year, a record breaking 1056 agents met the qualifying competition criteria demonstrating a remarkable increase from 783 in the previous year. Among them, 727 agents represented life insurance while 329 agents represented general insurance.
