27 Year Old Arrested For Killing His Wife Over Infidelity

27-year-old man in Mumias West , Kakamega county was on Friday arrested for allegedly killing his 24- year-old wife on suspicion of infidelity.

Edwin Okoth Owino killed his wife after finding a love message in her phone authored by another man .

After committing the heinous act, he walked into Musanda police station to report the death of her wife.

However, police officerd established a foul play after visiting the scene. The lifeless body of his wife was found lying in their sitting room.

Owino had told the police that he left his wife in their sitting room and went to bed hoping she will join him.

” Hours later when she did not show up at the bedroom and believing she was having a powerful nap, he went to wake her up.repeatedly, he had found her unresponsive and cold , prompting the early morning report of his wife’s sudden death,” reports the Directorate of criminal Investigation (DCI).

Officer Commanding the station was however suspicious of the man’s account, deirwcting some officers and DCI detectives to accompany him to the scene.

Upon reaching the scene , the officerd discovered that the body of the woman was thoroughly beaten up, raising suspecion that the suspect had stage-managed a suicide, suggesting she had taken poison.

Upon interrogation further into the suspect’s inconsistencious, a 16-year-old girl who survived the man’s brutality by a whiskey last night emerged from the crowd shedding the light on the ordeal.

” Sadly, a text message that popped up from a strange number, Okoth interpreted that its from a secret lover.

On seeing the message on his wife’s phone at around 10.30pm, Okoth went a head to call upon the girl whom he believed was his wife’s best friend, before landing on both ruthlessly with a piece of wood. The girl managed to escape with injuries and hid in her home and unlucky wife succumbed to the merciless beating,” reports DCI.

Okoth was placed in custody as investigation is ongoing.
