The Private Security Regulatory Authority on Friday granted the prestigious training and accreditation license to the Walinzi Center for Security Excellence—a Security Training Academy fully owned by the Kenya National Private Security Workers Union (KNPSWU).

This marks a significant milestone as it is the first and only security training license granted by the Government to the Private Security Workers Union in Kenya.

Under the leadership of the Union’s General Secretary, Bro. Isaack GM Andabwa, the Walinzi Center for Security Excellence is set to become a premier Security Training Academy aimed at elevating the standards of private security training to new heights.

Compliance with the security training requirement is not a suggestion nor an opinion—it is the law—and the Authority is determined to ensure every private security service provider complies with it fully, without exception. In addition, the training of Private Security Officers is not only a legal requirement but also a step towards enhancing professionalism, career progression, and the quality of security services provided in our country.

Fazul Mohamed, the Director General of the Authority, noted, “The Authority will continue to conduct field operational compliance and enforcement visits, ensuring that all clients and users of private security services only engage companies that meet the statutory requirements of training, Guard Force Numbers (GFN), and fair remuneration as per the PSRA Directive.”
