Westland’s MP and Nairobi Gubernatorial hopeful Timothy Wanyonyi has said he is the best suited candidate to take over Nairobi County Come 2022.

Wanyonyi who has served as Westland’s MP for ten years announced that he will be vying for the Nairobi Gubernatorial seat in 2022.

The Westlands legislator has promised to wipe out all the cartels in Nairobi if elected County Boss.

He said he will not fight the cartels as his predecessor, Mike Sonko and Kidero did.

“Fighting cartels is lethal, fixing the loopholes is what will make them run away from the city hall because they cannot stand the pressure. I will ensure I fix all loopholes they use and force them to comply,” said Wanyonyi.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with Taarifa News, Wanyonyi said soon as he ascends into power hawkers will be having peaceful time to do their business as he will train the City Inspectorate to work in a good way like their counterparts in Mombasa.

“I will train them to work in a good way just as the officers in Mombasa do. Maasai market used to work very well. We shall ensure that a place is set up with specific days and time for the hawkers to conduct their business,” said Wanyonyi.

He promised to restore the City to international standards by improving the drainage system and security.

Asked on the stand of the ODM party as the Nairobi Chairman George Aladwa had opposed him saying he will not be given the ticket, Wanyonyi said it is the mandate of the citizens of Nairobi to choose their next Governer and that is why he has chosen to go to them.

“I will go to the citizens because they are the ones who will determine the next governer. I know, my track record in wetlands says it all. I know I will win, I have that feeling,” said Wanyonyi.
