Socialite and entrepreneur Vera Sidika has been relishing every moment of her pregnancy.
And she hasn’t been paying any attention to naysayers, who have criticised her for her numerous pregnancy posts and parties, joking that hers is the longest pregnancy in history.
Vera had an exclusive baby shower yesterday evening, three months after her star-studded gender reveal party which was held in Karen.
The influencer kicked off her special day by teasing her 2.1 million Instagram followers with a post that hinted at what was to come.
“Baby shower loading. 10 October 2021,” Vera wrote, sparking the curiosity of her fans.
For the rest of the evening, the socialite released snippets of the event on her Instagram stories, showing off the delicate, hot-pink décor that reminded guests that their host is carrying a baby girl.
While Sidika is yet to release photos of the shower or disclose where it took place, clips shared showed that the party went down at a lush, green garden.
“When you see Rita Creations around me, know it’s about to go down,” Vera wrote, tagging her event planner.
She displayed the decorated table arrangements, which were an all pink affair.
The table was adorned with white and pink roses, balloons, and gorgeous china.
It was hard to miss the cute, caricature drawing of a heavily pregnant Sidika, beaming and cradling her baby bump. The drawing was a recurrent theme, spotted at the podium where guests danced, on the welcome sign at the entrance of the location and even on the napkins set out at the dining table.
“Vera’s very pink baby shower, welcome,” the sign at the entrance read.
Seemingly pleased with the décor, the influencer heaped praises on her planner.
“Baby Vee. Can’t wait to meet you,” a banner at the occasion read.
Glimpses of Vera at the event via guests’ Instagram posts show that the mom-to- be was wearing a flowing, light-pink gown that had an elegant side-drape.
Her guests stunned in mostly white outfits- a pointer that the dress-code for the exclusive evening was white and pink.
In attendance was Bahati, his content creator wife Diana Marua, socialite Cuppie Ayokya, popular make-up artiste Miss Keysha and Miss World Kenya 2nd Runners up Bernice Nuna, among others.
Vera’s husband, Brown Mauzo made headlines for missing the gender reveal party in July, but this time around, he showed up early with his wife on his arm.
Mauzo was sharply dressed in a white suit, pink pocket-square and brown leather shoes.
Sidika also spoke about the popular concept of surprise baby showers, saying that no one else can execute her ideas for a party accurately.
“Hope y’all know why I would prefer to plan my own baby shower and not wait to be surprised by anyone. I am a perfectionist and honestly, nobody can see my vision but me,” she wrote.
“We had so much fun. Our princess was happy enjoying from inside,” she added.
The socialite has been on a ‘babymoon’ with her husband in Watamu, the seemingly happy pair soaking up the sun with views of the glistening blue ocean as they await their daughter’s due date.
