MCAs have issued a 3 day notice to the Acting Nairobi Governor Anne Kananu to Appear in the premises or face a vote of no confidence with his position at the helm of City Hall.

The County legislators are decrying a lack of service delivery at City Hall over Kananu’s absence at the Assembly calling on her to resign for the remainder of the term so that a temporary governor can take office.

“We are yet to receive money for Bursary to disburse to Kenyans. This is because the acting governor is absent. The Money is at the Controller of Budget just awaiting for her to come and push for release of the money. If she doesn’t appear we will impeach her” said Wilson Ochola Utalii Ward MCA

According to the MCAs, it’s the acting governors’ absence at City Hall that has delayed the Bursary funds.

The county legislators threatened to go on strike and shoot down the supplementary budget if the bursary funds are not released soon.

“We are lobbying all elected MCAs to know that its highttime they prove that they are worth. Money is available yet there is no one to push for its release,” added Dandora Four MCA Francis Ngesa
