Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA)Director General Silas Kinoti has strongly refuted claims made by an activist regarding alleged murder threats.

Dennis Ayako accused Kinoti of orchestrating efforts to pressure him into withdrawing a petition filed in the High Court aimed at removing Kinoti from office due to incompetence and corruption. Additionally, Ayako called for President William Ruto to dismiss Kinoti from his position, citing poorly constructed sections of Ngong road and bribery allegations involving road tenders.

Ayako also criticized KURA as one of the most corrupt state agencies, alleging that Kinoti has been involved in bribery scandals and irregular contracts since joining in 2009.

Kinoti dismissed these accusations as fabrications and strategic manipulations aimed at extorting money from the public. He stated that many activists file baseless lawsuits in hopes of receiving financial compensation, but he has grown weary of such tactics and has taken legal action to prevent their recurrence.

Expressing frustration with the ongoing attacks on his reputation, Kinoti accused lobby groups of targeting him solely for financial gain, suggesting that similar tactics have been employed in the past.
