Three people have been arrested in Possession of bhang worth Ksh.120,000 in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County.
James Mwaniki, a 67 year-old who is among the three, was conered at his home with 20 kilograms of Bhang while the two other suspects Alexender Muriuki and Peter Muchiri were arrested 19 rolls.
Confirming the incident, Gichugu OCPD Anthony Mbogo said they were tipped by members of the public who informed them that the trio were selling and distributing bhang to people in Gichugu Sub-County.
“We were informed by the members of the public that there were people selling bhang and it was then that we started our hunt for them,” said Mbogo.
Mbogo said the three will be arraigned in Court warning more crackdown of drug peddlers.
” The three will be arraigned at Gichugu Law courts. Let hose who are still hiding doing the prohibited business be informed will be caught because we are still going on with the investigations,” added Mbogo.
