Six Cops Accused of Killing Kianjokoma Brothers Freed On Bail

Six Police Officers who were accused with the murder of the Kianjokoma brothers have today been released on a 300,000 bail each.
The six who include Benson Mbuthia, Consolota Kariuki, Nicholas Cheruiyot, Martin Wanyama, Lilian Cherono and James Mwanikiwere have been barred from going to Kianjokoma where the murder took place.


They were charged with two incidences of murder each and pleaded not guilty before Justice Daniel Ogembo.
The two brothers were arrested on 1st August this year after breaking the 10Pm curfew rule.The family explored many police stations in Embu the next day after their incarceration, but their efforts were in vain.


After being referred back by Runyejes police station, the family filed a missing person’s report at Manyatta Police Station on August 3. The next day after their arrest, the family visited many police stations in Embu, but their attempts were in vain.

They were informed that Benson and Emmanuel both perished the same day after jumping from a driving police cruiser. The bodies were discovered at the Embu Level 5 Hospital mortuary.


They were then ushered in the front seat of the police land cruiser.


When those arrested arrived at the Manyatta station, they were asked to alight; however, the two brothers did not.
Benson and Emmanuel Ndwiga were laid to rest on Friday, August 13, 2021, in the same grave.
