Weeks after the allegations of diverting money meant for Martha Karua’s campaign, residents of Kajiado county have come out in large numbers to protest against the greed and uncouth behavior of former Kajiado Governor David Nkedianye and his running mate Joseph Manje.

They want the duo to return the money which was meant to aid Karua’s campaign kitty.

Five Million was handed over to Nkedianye by an MP who was given by a senior Jubilee Party Official who had lobbied for the money from a top party financier.

The money was meant to boost the appearance of the Jubilee team at the Fundraiser as a show of solidarity.

Ms. Karua who hopes to be the Deputy President to Raila Odinga was scheduled to have a tour of Kajiado County on Saturday 28 May last month.

Azimio la Umoja strategists were shocked when Nkedianye and his running mate Mp Manje, together with five other Parliamentary Aspirants boycotted the Harambee and failed to remit the money.

“The Sh 5 Million was to be split into two, shs 3 Million was to be contributed at the Martha Karua Harambee. Sh 2 Million was to help organize party activities and support the Candidates to mobilize for the canceled Karua visit this weekend,” said the official.

The Azimio La Umoja team said they wanted the Jubilee team to be part of the Karua journey as is happening in the Mt Kenya Region where Karua has been received by Jubilee candidates.

Kajiado County Governor Joseph Ole Lenku attended the fundraiser with several ODM candidates and contributed a personal donation of Sh 1 Million shillings.
