Matiang’i Pays Tribute To Fallen Soldiers

The Cabinet Secretary for Interior Dr Fred Matiang’i, has paid glowing tribute to Police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Dr Matiang’i who was speaking during the 3rd annual memorial service in honour of our departed heroes and heroines, celebrated the officers for having paid the ultimate price in the service of the nation. In the ceremony held at the National Police Service Embakasi A Campus, the cabinet secretary acknowledged the selfless service rendered by the fallen officers, while commending the bereaved families for braving the loss of their loved ones.

#The Inspector general of Police Hilary Mutyambai, also acknowledged the efforts that the departed officers had rendered to the nation, in guaranteeing the public safety and security of Kenyans, adding that their sacrifices were not in vain.

The ceremony bringing together the National Police Service and Kenya Prison Service is an annual celebration designed to honour officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty every year. Also present during the ceremony was the Deputy Inspector General – Kenya Police Edward Mbugua, Deputy Inspector General-Administration Police, Noor Gabow and the DCI chief George Kinoti among other dignitaries and top police commanders.
