Grassroot leaders from Makadara constituency have rallied their support on Nairobi Gubernatorial hopeful Tim Wanyonyi.

Speaking during their meeting in Nairobi, the leaders called on the ODM party leadership to announce Wanyonyi as the official candidate for the party as no other person has declared interest for the seat under the party.

“We all know that Wanyonyi is the only person who has announced and launched his campaign officially. Let them announce him as the official flagbearer,” paused Ndeda.

The leaders say they cannot hold negotiations for Tim to drop his bid as they have the numbers required.

They called for free and fair nominations during the part primaries and added they will only accept Wanyonyi loses fairly.

According to them, Ngatia who is Wanyonyi’s main competitor is not an ODM member hence should not be given the ticket.
