The Kenya Film and Classification Board has issued restrictions on airing of “I am Samuel” documentary.

According to the Board, the producer of the movie had deliberate attempt to promote same sex marriage. The attempt is clear in the confession by the gay couple that feeling each other is a normal thing and be embraced as a way of life.

“In the course of examining the film entitled: I am Samuel, which was submitted to the Board for classification, the board noted a clear and deliberate attempt to promote same sex marriage as an acceptable way of life. This attempt is evident through the repeated confessions by the gay couple that what they feel for each other is normal and should be embraced as a way of life, as well as the character’s body language, including scenes of kissing of two male Lovers,” read part of the statement.

Speaking to the media KFCB acting Chief Executive Officer, Christopher wambua said the Film was being sponsored by a foreign organization and the board will not allow such productions to be either broadcast or exhibited within Kenya as the laws do not countenance homosexuality or same sex marriage and the documentary could easily expose vulnerable groups including children to unsuitable content.

The media and religious Organizations have also been called to support the clarion and call for creation and consumption of content that promotes good morals and aspirations.
