Ford Kenya’s national Secretary General, John Chikati, has encouraged youths to be keen on taking up elective leadership positions locally and nationally.

Speaking during the party’s massive registration Youth League meeting at Kapsokwony in Mt. Elgon, Bungoma County, Chikati vowed to lead Ford Kenya in registering a huge number of members not only in Mt. Elgon but across the county.

“We’ve so far done a commendable job across the region, and this is just the beginning,” Chikati observed amidst grins.

He further divulged that the party’s youths not only push their political agenda but also participate actively in corporate social responsibility.

“We encourage our youths to take part in cleaning markets and public places, supporting the elderly, sick, and vulnerable in society, and offering food to candidates during this examination period so as to boost their morale and self-esteem,” he revealed.

Mt. Elgon Secretary General for Ford Kenya sub-branch, Emmanuel Kibet, expressed his gratitude to the entire team for showing their support to them and promised to walk the talk by ensuring massive registration is witnessed in the region.

“You’ve given us morale by walking with us, and as youths of Mt. Elgon, we commit ourselves to painting the mountain green from the grass root level,” reiterated Kibet.

Esther Osikuku is a hopeful member of the Ford Kenya Mt. Elgon Youth League who encouraged her peers to follow suit since she has so far tasted the fruits of the party.

“I never regret joining Ford Kenya because I’ve benefited a lot. Youths who embrace this party’s vision will walk in the light and ditch the culture of idleness and drug abuse, which is rampantly killing us,” Osikuku observed.

In an exclusive interview with Chrispine Kipsang’ (who was absent during the meeting), Mt. Elgon youth leader and acting vice chair in the region, he applauded his team’s unity of purpose.

“Though in absentia, I support my team for creating awareness and strengthening the party by promoting the Kenya Kwanza manifesto; we, however, request to have a meeting with our party leader so as to iron out some critical issues in the party,” said Kipsang’.
