Politicians have been urged to preach peace as the country enters the electioneering period.

The National council of NGO’s Chairman Stephen Cheboi asked political leaders to refrain from sentiments that are likely to drown the country into chaos.

Flanked by Peter Maina who is the Founder of the Africa Disaster Management among other officials, Cheboi revealed that from next year, they will travel to all counties under the “Mwanainchi Peace Initiative” to preach peace and harmony

“We will participate in a peace caravan targeting campaigns for a peaceful nation as the country gears to elections. We are targeting 30,000 signatures for those who want peace” Cheboi said

He further urged Kenyans to avoid taking law into their hands but instead preach peace and avoid incidents that will spoil the festive mood.

“We urge all drivers to drive carefully during this festive season to avoid accidents.”

The National Chairman who has been the driving force behind the giant organization that commands a membership of over 12,000 lauded the recent steps taken by President Uhuru Kenyatta to beef up security by recalling security organs to resume work.

“We urge the government to deal firmly with those who terrorize innocent and peaceful citizens.” Noted Cheboi.
