As 2022 political clock tickles Seme constituency Kisumu County is getting a new look  this is after top aspirant Julius Owino Majimaji launched a lighting project powered by solar and another water project in the area in conjunction with Davis & Shirtliff.

It is the 1st solar powered water project ever since in Seme constituency and it will serve about 500 households within Reru market and its community.

According to Majimaji the project is also geared in empowering traders to do business past evening hours with good lighting system.

Water will enhance hygiene and keep at bay thirst and risk of contracting water-borne diseases.

“It a  good start and what we are doing is to save another 3 hours past 6.30 pm so that these traders  can continue selling their goods… It has been a challenge for them to do this in the dark….the 24 hour economy can only be realized with good lighting system which goes hand in hand with security,’’ Majimaji said.

He further asked security agency to ensure the  the project is well secured  after vandalism was reported at Namba Kosea in Kombewa and Arito. He warned his political detractors not use violence to punish the community.

“I brought solar revolution and I believe when we have solar powered boreholes we  will  save a lot especially in market, second can be in institutions like primary schools , secondary schools TVET that are able to serve the community, so we’ve done the first pilot which we’ll be launched  later at Reru Market “He added.

“Am exposed to the practical world not the technocrat world am able to get something done quick and with more partners involved, am a youth and young at heart, we must accept that as technology changes something must also give and change so that we introduce other ways of doing things,’’ Majimaji said.

Lately he has been very close with ODM boss Raila Odinga spearing his campaigns and amassing youth vote in various parts of the country under his flagship of Straggler.
