Nairobi County MCA’s have been accused of evading the afternoon session to go and feast at the Governors party.
Raising their complains led by the Health Committee chairman, Peter Warutere, they accused the Komarock MCA Muthiga kamau for missing a house sitting to go and have lunch while it is his motion that was to be debated before the floor.
“Honorable speaker it is sad that Hon. Kamau was just outside here some five minutes ago. How could he have gone to take lunch while he knew very well he was supposed to be in the house to table his motion, “said Warutere.
They brought back the example of when Hon Mark Igambi once asked for rescheduling of his motion while he knew very well it was the day when his motion was to be tabled.
“I remember it also happened sometimes back when Hon Mark Igambi attended a session while driving. He knew very well that it was his motion being tabled and he attends zoom while driving,” added another MCA.
They called the speaker to ensure that the standing orders of the assembly be strictly followed by ensuring all the committee chairpersons attend the sessions despite the covid-19 protocols as they agreed earlier on.
“I remember very well Hon Speaker that we had an order that all the committee chairpersons attend the sessions. You see now the Planning Committee chairman was not around to say when they’ll give a feedback to Hon Jagero’s statement…” added Warutere.
Hon Kamau was supposed to table his motion but disappeared while others got in for the session. The speaker ruled out that the motion be taken back to the House business committee for rescheduling when it will be tabled for discussion.
