Former Manager Accused of Stealing 67 Million Kenyan Shillings Appears in Court

A prime suspect who stole more than 67 million Kenyan shillings while working as a manager was on Thursday arraigned and charged at Milimani law courts.

Hussein Ismail Godad, who appeared before Milimani chief magistrate Bernard Ochoi however pleaded not guilty for stealing by servant and was released on a cash bail of two million or a bond of 5 million with surety of similar amount.

The move by the accused persons lawyer to have his bond or bail reduced hit snac, after a lawyer watching brief for complainant Hassan Albhai told the trial magistrate that the sentiment by the accused lawyer that his client was arrested and terrorised before taken to Garissa and back were just mere allegations and that they were ment to turnish the image of the DCI officers.

“Your honor the accused was not terrorised nor intimidated, actually what the officers were doing were part of the investigation,in fact the accused persons lawyer was well informed of all this the process.”Said Albahi.

According to the charge sheet,it’s states that between unknown dates 17th January 2024 at Madina Chemicals Limited Wherehouse, within Nairobi county , being the wherehouse manager employed by the said company,stole animals products valued at ksh 67,513,761 ,the property of the said company which came to your possession by virtue of your employment .

The matter will now be mentioned on the 29th February 2024.
