Nairobi Azimio la Umoja allied Members of the County Assembly have condemned the attack on Spectre East Africa company in the Industrial area.
The leaders led by lang’ata ODM chair and Lindi ward MCA Ochieng Jera accused DP Rigathi Gachagua of being the facilitator of the unknown goons who attacked the Company run by Mama Ida Odinga and reportedly threw stones into the premises.
“What we have seen here is childish and uncalled for. It is unfortunate that someone with a post such as Deputy President can send goons to come and attack the office of Mama Ida,” Jera stated.
They stated that they have enough supporters in Nairobi and if they decide to revenge the situation would turn bad.
“We know where they stay. If we decide to go revenge today with our supporters, will they blame us? This Nairobi is ours and we control it” he posed.
On his part, Sarang’ombe MCA Lawrence Otieno said they will not allow their opponents to continue destroying the property of their leaders as they watch.
He called out former President Uhuru Kenyatta to quickly respond and ensure that those involved in sending the goons including Kimani Ichungwa who made a statement over the same are dealt with.
“We all heard what Ichungwa said. We call out President Uhuru Kenyatta to now come out and quickly respond,” he stated.
Jera told them to stop attacking Mama Ida Odinga saying she does not hold any political position nor is she active in politics.
“Mama is not a politician neither does she hold a political post nor is she in politics. We shall not allow them to do this anymore,” he stated.
Suspected goons smashed the windows of the company located along Mombasa road with the motive behind it yet to be established as they didn’t break into the gas Cylinder Manufacturing and Distribution Company associated with the Raila Odinga Family.
The goons of around 50 people then sped away after committing the crime.
