Virtous Woman is on a move to donate to school going Girls with Re-Usable Sanitary Towels as they create awareness on Menstrual Health and Hygeine this month of march. Through this education, empowerment, and sustainability we aim to work towards ending period poverty and End Period shame in lamu county.

The 1st Phase on this has reached out to 11schools and benefit a thousand school going girls as well as Women that we’ve met individually and can’t afford one. We are glad they can now Bleed with Pride because they know how perfectly their body works.

The NGO will be having the second to wind up lamu and get to our neighbours county and coast region at large.

The programme is called PadMe and it has got huge support from PadMad.

“PadMad reusable sanitary pads will help us to combat and curb wide-spread menstrual related transactional sex to reduce early pregnancy and early marriage that have been noted in Hindi, Witu ,Visiwani and Mpeketoni as statistics indicates. Also we have insight on Endometriosis being the month of March,” Jenniffer stated.

“The challenge menstruating girls and women face often is less tangible than simply the availability of infrastructure, and is rooted in social norms and beliefs,” She added.

In many cultures in Kenya, menstruating women are considered impure and are systematically excluded from participating in every-day activities, such as education, employment, and cultural and religious practices.

The taboos and stigmas attached to menstruation lead to an overall culture of silence around the topic, resulting in limited information on menstruation and menstrual hygiene. Such misinformation can have ramifications on the health and dignity of girls and women.

Virteous Women has given a Special Gratitude to PadMad Who donated to us the Sanitary towels which are Re-Usable thus a sustainable solution to achieve Quality Education and for all given the SDGs 2030

Parents can now rest abit and save the 100 Bob monthly beacuse our Sanitary towel last up to 5years and are certified and approved by the Kebs as we promote Buy Kenya build Kenya. It’s all for a circular economy.

Leading the campaign was The Founder and Director of Virtous woman ,Jenniffer Alias Waridi Kenya ,Muthoni Martha ,Margaret Ochumbo ,Judith Liona and the Patner representative Ms Monika Fauth of Banana House.
