Elijah Otieno Ogallo appeared before the Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday, facing charges of conspiracy to defraud and obtaining money by false pretenses, contrary to section 317 of the Penal Code.
The charge sheet details that between October 2 and 13, 2023, at South B Rameo Court in Nairobi, Ogallo, in collusion with others not present in court, conspired to defraud Justus Katu Munyao of Ksh 1,345,000. Ogallo allegedly misled Munyao by pretending he could help him incorporate and sell biodegradable oil.
In a separate count, Ogallo is accused of obtaining the same amount, Ksh 1,345,000, from Munyao under the false pretense of securing a market for the sale of his biodegradable oil.
During the proceedings before Magistrate Robinson Ondieki, Ogallo pleaded not guilty to all charges. He was granted release on an Ksh 800,000 bond, with an alternative option of a Ksh 500,000 cash bail.
