The bitter rival between Nairobi ODM chairman George Aladwa and Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok played out again in a meeting chaired by ODM boss Raila Odinga today at Convent International Hotel Lavington.
According to sources Aladwa instructed security officers at the hotel not to let Imwatok in but the security did not heed to the instructions.
Imwatok arrived when the meeting had started, Raila then addressed them.
‘‘The scuffles broke out before Raila left the venue … Aladwa and Imwatoks’ supporters fought each in full glare of ODM leaders …but it escalated immediately Baba left the gate before security of the premises ordered them to move out.’’ a source narrated.
Makadara ODM chairlady Susy was also roughed by Aladwas’ supporters and her belongings including phones and money taken.
‘‘They roughed her up and took everything she was rushed to for treatment thereafter’’ the source added.
Aladwa and Imwatok rivalry can be traced from 2007 when Imwatok made entry into Nairobi politics.
