Activist Francis Awino has taken National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Director General George Njao to court, accusing him of high-level corruption and incompetence unfit for holding public office.
In court documents filed before the High Court in Nairobi, Awino alleges that Njao is responsible for massive corruption at the NTSA during his tenure. The activist points to an auditor’s report for the fiscal year ending June 2024, which reportedly shows that 1.2 billion Kenyan shillings cannot be accounted for by the agency.
Awino is calling for President William Ruto to dismiss Njao and appoint a more competent individual to lead the NTSA.
