The United Green Movement Party has castigated the ongoing attacks directed at the judiciary and the Independent Electoral Commission by some the ODM leader Raila Odinga.

This follows after the former Prime Minister Mr Odinga maintained that the results were manipulated by Venezualan Jose Camargo whose name featured in the petition saying that the Supreme Court verdict could result to voter apathy.

The movement says that rulings only are just when in favour of Raila and that it was bringing the nation to a bad of culture of challenging even credible elections.

Speaking to the media, UGM party leader Agostino Neto said they filled candidates to various elective posts in the past elections but they lost. He says they conceded defeat and are preparing for the 2027 elections.

“Like all elections we must have winners and losers. It’s highest time for losers to retreat to our boardroom to reset, strategize for the next cycle and contest. The same court that nullified the 2017 is the same that proved credibility of the 2022 elections,” Neto said.

He asked the election petitioners to respect the rule of law that disagreeing with the institution is accepted but disrespecting the judiciary is unlawful.
