PICTORIAL: Sakaja Shows Somalia Mayors Around Uhuru Park

Nairobi Governor Sakaja Johnson and his Deputy Governor Njoroge Muchiri are hosted the Mayors’ Forum on Planning and Investment for the Somalia Urban Resilience project II (SURP-II) by the World bank at Uhuru Park.

The feted Mayors include; Mr Omar Abdullahi, Mayor of Kismayo, Mr. Abdullahi Watiin, Mayor of Baidoa, Ms Nadar Tabah, Mayor of Beledweyne and Mr Abdirahman Mohammed, Mayor of Dhusamareeb Municipality.

Sakaja handed keys to Nairobi City to the Mayors from Somalia to symbolize the freedom of the recipient to enter and leave the city at will, as a trusted friend of city residents. Keys to cities are traditionally given by a Governor or Mayor (In the case of a municipality).
