Mabatini Mca Wilfred Oluoch Odalo has retained his seat as the chairperson of the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) in the County of Nairobi.
This was after he was elected unopposed, which will see the ODM legislator serve for the rest of the term.
Couple of months ago ODM MCAs pulled out of the committee in protests a move that almost crippled oversight of the billions that were allocated to NMS.
In his acceptance speech he applauded his Party Orange Democratic Movement and entire assembly leadership for the support.
‘‘It my pleasure to have this seat back and I believe with unity were shall achieve great things and be best watchdog in the country..to my party and assembly leaders I want to thank you for the support.’’ He said.
Orange democratic movement withdrew all its members from PAC citing interference from external leaders.
The letter was addressed to Minority whip Peter Imwatok who later communicated to the assembly.
‘‘I regrettably invoke the Standing Order number 168 (1) and discharge the following members from serving as the members of PAC, Wilfred Oluoch, Moses Ogeto, Clarence Munga, Maurice Ochieng, Anne Catherine, Rose Ogonda, Lawrence Otieno, Peter Imwatok, Jared Okode, Joan Muasya, Osman Khalif, Rosemary Masitsa.” The letter read.
Odalo will be deputised by Waithaka MCA Antony Kiragu.
