Renowned Nigerian artist David Adedeji Adeleke, also known as Davido, has issued a stern ultimatum to Mediamax Company, demanding the removal of all defamatory articles within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in legal proceedings, according to a detailed letter sent through esteemed city lawyer Conrad Maloba.
Davido additionally insists on a public apology from K24 TV’s owner for the reckless and malicious articles disseminated across all Mediamax social media platforms. These articles, published on April 1st, alleged Davido’s arrest at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with cocaine worth 18 million Kenyan shillings while departing the country.
In the letter penned by Mr. Maloba, it’s asserted that the articles were not only malicious but also aimed at tarnishing Davido’s global reputation, which spans various business endeavors.
“The statements within your article are unequivocally false and were published with the clear intent to defame our client,” the letter reads. “Your claims falsely portray our client as a narcotics user/trafficker and engage in criminal activities, constituting defamation per se and warranting compensatory and punitive damages.”
The letter further highlights Davido’s stature as an international megastar and respected entrepreneur with business interests spanning multiple jurisdictions. His contributions to the arts and business sectors, coupled with his extensive fan base and reputable partners, underscore the gravity of the defamation.
Davido’s recent electrifying performance during the “Raha Fest” in Nairobi on March 30th serves as a testament to his influential presence in the entertainment industry
