Embattled FKF President Nick Mwendwa will spend 14 more days in Custody to pave way for the DCI to complete investigations. Mwendwa was arrested on Friday last week for grilling over misuse of 8.5 Million by the Federation of Football Kenya.

He was arraigned in Court today at Milimani Law Courts before Magistrate Wandia Nyamu and he did not plead to any fraud charges after the DCI filed an application seeking two weeks to complete the probe into the matter.

“My co-investigator and I are investigating cases of fraudulent acquisition of public property contrary to section 45(1)(a) as read with section 48 of the Anti-Corruption and Economic crime Act, No. 3 of 2003 as well as failure to comply with any law or applicable procedures and guidelines relating to the procurement and Disposal contrary to section 45 (2)(b) read with section 48 of the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crime Act, No 3 of 2003 which the respondent (Mwendwa) is a suspect,” said Chief Inspector Moses Mnangat.

The officer said they are yet to obtain any documents from FKF, various bank statements and statements from witnesses. They claimed releasing will interfere with the investigations.

Mwendwa found himself in trouble after whistleblower Milton Nyakundi raised an alarm over misappropriate use of funds at the Kandanda House. The CS Sports further called for investigations and disbanding of FKF with a caretaker committee taking over for the next 6 Months.
