NGO Council Condemns Mithika’s Madoadoa Statement

The National Council of NGOs (NGO Council) has called for a decorum and political tolerance among key political leaders, aspirants of various political offices and their supporters as High political seasons fast approaches in the Country.

The NGO Council has maintained that political leaders should keep prioritizing issues affecting the citizens as they visit every corner of the country.

Kenyans have been asked to pay keen attention to every aspirant and indeed interrogate their manifestos as the country prepares for general elections.The NGO Council urges current and aspiring political leaders to always maintain high level of political decorum and harmony in the country and most importantly keep preaching peace among the Kenyan people.

“We urge leaders to desist from form of inflammatory remarks in public meetings and gatherings.We further urge wananchi in kenya to reject leaders who propagate hatred in the society. The NGO Council further urge politicians to embrace one another and be in love with one another at all times for the peace of the nation. Leaders must be very careful on the choice of words they use as they adress public meetings and gatherings at all times.
The NGO Council laud the great move by citizens in every Part of the nation to welcome every aspirant as they sell their policies ahead of the country’s Elections. eaceful coexistence among Kenyans is very key, we urge leaders and citizens to embrace peace,”they said in a statement.


The National council of NGOs and it’s members among other peace stakeholders will continue to champion for a peaceful nation. NGO Council and all its NGO Members in the country be at the forefront in preaching peace and harmony and Kenyans. through our recently launched “Mwananchi Peace Iniatitive” we shall preach peace and indeed rally all political leaders and wananchi in the country to uphold peace and harmony throughout during this elections year in Kenya. They have promised to reach out to all Kenyans to remain peaceful.
The NGO Council strongly condemn any leader who preaches hatred among Kenyans for selfish gains.

Their statement comes after Meru Senator Mithika Linturi spoke with divisiveness indicating recurrin of the 2007 post violence elections.
