Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok, who is also the Nairobi County Assembly Minority Whip is on another food scandal, this time he is accused of embezzling sacks to his private store food from national disaster management at City hall.
According to our sources the food were to be distributed towards mitigating hunger that has struck many residents in the city during this Covid 19 pandemic period.
The food is estimated to be worth Ksh 10 million.
“I can tell you for free he colluded with some officers at disaster management and diverted food meant for Nairobians to his own benefits …the governor is aware about the same but we are shocked she has never confronted Imwatok over the same,” he said.
Talking to Taarifa News Imwatok rubbished the claims saying he is being fought politically.
“Am a Seventh Day Adventist how can I steal foods meant for the needy ..these are pure politics perpetrated by some MCAs and executive just tarnish my name.” Imwatok added.
“This people should first tell us how one family supplied food to Nairobi county government of Nairobi to a tune of 84 millions shillings” he added.
The food is said to have been stolen when corona was at the peak.
