Nairobi County Approves Ksh39.6B budget

The Nairobi County Assembly has approved a ksh39.6 billion budget for 2021/22 financial year.

This represents an increase of Ksh8 billion from last year’s allocation of Ksh31 billion.

This financial year the budget has mainly focused on health and development in the wards.

The health  sector has received Ksh10 billion with the recurrent sector ceilings set at Ksh9.6 billion and development will take up 641 million

The funds according to Allan Igambi, CEC for Finance,Budget and Appropriations will go towards paying of community health volunteers and expanding the maternal healthcare facilities in Nairobi.

Meanwhile Ksh1.545 billion has been earmarked for development in the county that will see the Wards get Ksh18m allocation.

The Bursary funds have also been increased by and additional 1.5 million to Ksh 4.5 million for the respective wards.
