The vocal Kajiado County politician Samuel Sane Ole Kitene has raised concerns over looming accidents in Nairobi City County.

This follows after electrical and fibre poles erected along the highways become old and rot leaning across the highways and can fall down any moment.

Sane says Kenyans ought to be cautioned of the dangers facing at the drivers if the poles fall down.

“Drivers unaware of the fallen poles will fall prey of these incidences. I call on the government to act in speed to restore sanity on our roads which is getting out of hand,” Sane stated.

He faulted Kenya Power and the WiFi networks service providers for the reckless behaviour adding that they dig holes less than two feet which is not strong enough to carry the poles.

“The roundabout connecting Uhuru Highway and Kenyatta Avenue is a good example of such dangerous poles leaning along the highways. In this rainy season, the concrete and wooden poles are becoming weaker and can fall any time,” he said.
