Youths have called upon President William Ruto to incorporate youths in top national positions in the quest to uphold inclusivity in the country.

Speaking during the launch of the Kenya Youth Organization Bungoma Chapter in Kanduyi, Samwel Mitieka, the national Communication Director KYO, called upon President William Ruto to consider youths in the top national seats to ensure inclusivity further condemning the acts of violence witnessed in the country at the recent past.

“We request that our president ,H.E. President of the Republic of Kenya, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, EGH to consider appointing more youths in the government so that our voices can be heard. We need to take part in decision-making,” he said.

He, however added,

“We would like to reiterate that we remain non-partisan and love peace, we will preach peace because we have only one Kenya.”

Jeniffer Wairimu, KYO president, also advised the youths drawn from across the 45 wards in the county to continue forming more groups to harness more opportunities.

“We are excited to commission you today as leaders of Bungoma youths, but this should just be the beginning. Work closely with chiefs and county commissioners to gain information on projects that are in line with our objectives,” cited Wairimu.

KYO CEO and founder, Kim Jeremiah, challenged the youths to maintain their focus on financial empowerment and sustainability of their projects, being the 17th county to be officially commissioned in Kenya.

“Continue amplifying your voices from the grassroots, keep advocating for youth inclusivity at all costs, and come up with marketable innovations, especially in agriculture and climate change,” noted Jeremiah.

According to Isaac Wanjala, the chairperson of Bungoma KYO Chapter, youths should be proactive and change their mind-set by taking up the leadership mantle.

“Let us all advocate for a change in the narrative that we are leaders of tomorrow; we should stand up for our rights and remain nonpartisan; we should not allow ourselves to be misused by politicians and engage in vices like hooliganism,” he accentuated.

Youth dignitaries from other parts of the country accompanied the team, including Hon. Dorcas Nyokabi of Laikipia and Hon. Alfa Captain, among others.
