Kiamumbi Police Station, serving as a crucial hub for law enforcement in Kiambu County, is facing dire conditions that not only compromise the well-being of its officers but also hinder their ability to effectively serve and protect the community.

The office facilities, particularly those housing traffic and DCI departments, are in a state of disrepair and neglect, posing serious challenges to daily operations.

The sorry state of the station’s infrastructure paints a bleak picture: bushy compounds, blocked sewers, and outdated facilities reminiscent of colonial-era structures.

Many parts of the station still bear wooden structures that date back to a bygone era, while others are plagued by dilapidated walls made of old iron sheets.

The conditions not only undermine the morale of the dedicated Police officers but also reflect poorly on the institution’s capacity to fulfill its mandate of maintaining law and order.

Calls for urgent intervention have grown louder, with community members and stakeholders emphasizing the need for immediate action to address the crisis.

Inspector General of Police, Japheth Koome, and Interior Cabinet Secretary, Kithure Kindiki, Should visit the station to witness firsthand the appalling conditions and to devise comprehensive solutions to remedy the situation.

Kiambu MP, Waithaka John Machua, should utilize resources from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) to initiate a much-needed facelift of the station.

By investing in infrastructure upgrades and modernization efforts, the MP will play a pivotal role in restoring the dignity of the Kiamumbi Police Station and enhancing its operational capabilities.

Improving the working conditions of the police officers at Kiamumbi Police Station is not just a matter of convenience; it is a critical step towards ensuring the safety and security of the community at large. As custodians of law and order, our police force deserves nothing less than adequate facilities and support to carry out their duties effectively.
