Nairobi County Majority Chief Whip Paul Kados has said that the move by Riruta MCA James Kiriba to push for the reversal of NMS functions back to the county government were personal and not the party position.
This came even as the Riruta Ward Law maker was bundled out of all Committees at City Hall following the motion.
Kiriba had tabled a motion in the County Assembly to have NMS return transferred functions to City Hall.
However, Kados noted that the MCA did not consult the party and the motion did not get clearance from the party hierarchy.
“That was his personal position and not ours as a party. He acted without consulting,” said Kados.
Kiriba wanted the establishment of a transitional oversight committee for the reversal of functions that were transferred to NMS before its term expires next year.
