I will prioritize health and education if elected Governor-Kananu

Governor Governor Ann Kananu on Friday made a surprise visit to Pumwani Maternity Hospital where he donated food staffs and gifts to expectant women and those who had delivered.

She gave them basins, soap, dry foods, sanitary towels, lesos and baby blankets.

Kananu expressed her satisfaction with the improved efficiency from the hospital’s staff.She said that the county is going to invest more in health in the next financial year.

She said that Nairobi hospitals have recently recorded quality services but added that a few challenges remain a reality that has to be tackled.

” We are no longer having funny cases of child theft and negligence and this means that we are on the right track,” Kananu said.

Kananu promised that given another 5 years, she will ensure access to quality pre natal and ante natal services are a priority.

The Pumwani Maternity Hospital is the leading pioneer maternity care hospital in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The hospital continues to provide obstetric and referral services hospital for delivery of expectant mothers in Nairobi, and adjoining counties.

During the visit,one of the mothers Penina Wanjawho had delivered a bouncing baby girl expressed joy to Kananu’s visit,and promised to name the girl after the Governor.

” She will be called Kananu so we only have to look for the other name,” she said.

Kananu was accompanied by Jubilee and ODM MCAs who promised to rally behind her bid to retain the gubernatorial seat.
