Former Catholic Priest With Three Wives Charged With Stealing Ksh15 Million

Former Catholic Priest Ambrose Otieno Denis Ongwen was arrested on Thursday 11th November year 2O21, by Directorate of Criminal Investigations Detective Peter Orwa and arraigned before Nairobi’s Senior Principal Magistrate K. Ondieki at Milimani Nairobi County Kenya.

Where he was charged with one count of stealing contrary to section 268 ( 1) as read with 275 of the criminal penal code and pleaded not guilty.

The accused in his 60s who married three wives after being expelled as a Catholic Priest through his lawyer submitted a lengthy oral application informing the Court that the offence he was charged with , is a civil matter and an ongoing matter while also urging the court to grant him lenient bond.

The State Prosecution informed the court that in early January Year 2019 and February 2021 at seeds of Peace Africa International , North Star Building along Lenana Road in Kilimani within Nairobi County and jointly with others not before the Court, the accused stole 15, 429, 250 million Kenya shillings property of NGO seeds of Peace Africa International.

The State Prosecutor has lined up five witnesses to testify against the accused at City Court three as the bond ruling requested by the accused will be delivered on Monday 15th November.

Senior Principal Magistrate K. Ondieki ordered the accused be remanded at Capital hill police station Nairobi County Kenya.
