Nairobi Assembly Azimio MCAs have rejected invite by Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja for a caucus in Mombasa this weekend.
Kilimani ward MCA Moses Ogeto says they are not ready for any trip until the Azimio case before the Supreme is concluded.
He faulted Sakaja for organizing the caucus for his own political interest citing mobilization for speaker seat.
“That is a UDA affair and our members are very religious no one actually will attend we would really want to know whether taxpayers money was spent on people who have not been sworn in as MCAs or not…and if the governor is spending taxpayers money looking for speaker position for UDA then is against the spirit of the constitution and PFM Act.” he said.
Mountain View ward MCA Maurice Ochieng’ slammed Sakajas’ move terming it a UDA affair.
“I can’t attend such we have not even sworn in what’s the hurry for our leader is still court …the message going around is Team Sakaja to meet in Mombasa are we still in politics?” Maurice asked.
