Human rights activist Cidi Otieno has condemned the eviction notice that was issued to Deep Sea residents terming it illegal.
According to Cidi the investors have been salivating for that land for a long period of time using fake court injunctions, politicians and even the police.
Early this week the resident protested the eviction notice plugged in the area demanding they vacate before 25th April 2022.
“We want to condemn the eviction notice that was issued the notice is illegal we appealed earlier order in court and the case is coming up to be heard on 4th July 2022.It means therefore that eviction notice is unlawful because you can not evict anyone if the matter is in Court the perpetrators of the notice are not acting within the law,” Otieno said.
He has called on the government to intervene and ensure no one is evicted until the case is heard and clear directions issued by the Court.
“We want the government to intervene and ensure that perpetrators of such illegal notice are brought to book furthermore we have been living there since 1964 .. up to now where were those claiming the land where were they all that time ?…we also want people stay firm. We shall not allow illegal demolition and we must stay put.’’ He added.
