More than seventy, Orange Democratic movement party, (ODM), Jubilee and Wiper allied Mcas in Nairobi County assembly have unanimously endorsed South C Mca Khalif Abbas Ibrahim as their Nairobi County assembly Majority Leader.
The City ward reps met on Tuesday at acity hotel where they all agreed to support Mr Abbas to be Majority Leader of the house business.
We have met here today to speak in one voice ,and we have agreed that our colleague Abbas Khalif be our Majority Leader,his the one who can unite members together, “Mathare mca elect said.
Abbas enjoys massive support from the party top brass and has assured that his ready for the job since he understands city politics well.
Abbas Khalif has also rallied mcas behind Ken Ngondi who is eyeing for Speakers post, saying he deserves the seat since ODM party leader Raila Odinga had promised that as Azimio coalition, speakers position was preseve for ODM party.
“We have met here today over 70 Mcas, to unanimously endorse Ken Ngondi as our speaker, and we have done so and we are just waiting to confirm on voting day ,we are just following directives from our party,”Abbas said.
